This shelving system was developed for use in the health case, food and domestic sectors and is protected by a permanent Alesta AM antimicrobial powder coating by DuPont. This contains antimicrobial silver zeolite to prevent growth of bacteria, mould and fungi on the coating surface. In independent tests a 3-log reduction in population was achieved against Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA strain) and Escherichia E-coli using the JIS Z 2801 method.
